The appearance of health and power isn’t in “the way you look”. It’s an energy you exude. Joseph Pilates wasn’t afraid of using big words to describe the intentions behind his work… and why would he?
Pilates makes you stand up straighter. Think harder. Go inwards more intently. Express outwards more physically. Take control and let go of control. Collaborate (with the teacher and with the apparatus) and grow stronger. It makes you show up for yourself, repeatedly. It adds a spring to your step, a glow to your face, and trust in yourself.
And the list just goes on… Has practicing Pilates given you more success in life?
[The quote stems from an original studio pamphlet by Joseph Pilates.]
